Dr. Wray understands the unique needs patients have when faced with a brain or spinal disorder. He believes that patient education and trust is an integral part of a doctor-patient relationship.

Dr. Wray earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. At Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, in Winston-Salem, NC he completed a general surgical internship and neurosurgical residency.

Dr. Wray has received many honors. At Wake Forest he received the Resident Teaching Award for excellence and was the Silver Medal Recipient for Clinical Research. Academically, Dr. Wray excelled and was recognized by two medical honor societies, Alpha Omega Alpha and Alpha Epsilon Delta.

Dr. Wray’s professional interests include general and neurovascular neurosurgery, complex spine surgery and instrumentation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and neuro-oncology. Dr. Wray’s interests are reflected in his research projects and those findings have been published in journal articles and presented at professional meetings.

Dr. Wray is a member of several prestigious organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), AANS/CNS Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves, American Medical Association, and Southern Medical Society.

Dr. Wray is an Atlanta native where he and his wife live with their three children; two girls and a boy. He and his family enjoy many outdoor activities together including water sports and tennis and have an appreciation for music.
